Opportunity
Hozho Collective is an organization dedicated to a post-capitalist world rooted in the practice of Contributionism. The Collective consists of member and affiliate organizations practicing new business models. Hozho Farms is a project to build a regenerative farm in Lake County California. The current team includes:
- Jeff Parrett (CVO – chief visionary officer)
- Wade Skeels (design architect)
- Jenny Pell (permaculturist).
The farm project has completed the conceptual designs for infrastructure and agricultural use.
As the project enters the implementation phase there is an opportunity for an apprentice farmer to join the team. The selected candidate will be involved in the design and implementation decisions for the project. Monthly the group will travel to Lake County and work on projects on the farm.
Over the course of the next 12-18 months a worker cooperative will be formed to manage the operation of the farm. Based on contribution and alignment the apprentice will be on a track to becoming a founding member of the cooperative.
Compensation: The current position comes with a stipend based on experience and contribution.
Location: This work will occur on-line and in person. The in person activities will be located in the SF Bay Area and Middletown in Lake County California.
Duties/Responsibities
- Participate in design implementation meetings (in-person/virtual)
- Online research in support of agricultural design
- Farm work days, once or twice a month (3-6) days
- Assist at permaculture educational workshops
- Organizational and personal development
